BSMC UK ALUMNI Reunion 2025
The BSMC Alumni Reunion 2025 was held on 13–14 September in Milton Keynes and Bedford. The weekend began at Novotel with lively introductions, engaging speaker sessions – including Ms. Emily Darlington MP, Dr. Ramesh Mehta CBE, Dr. Sourav Ghosh – and the launch of our updated website. A magical performance by Russ, cultural programs, and a vibrant DJ night added sparkle to Day 1.
Day 2 featured a scenic Bedford River Cruise, where alumni celebrated Durgotsov: একাল–সেকাল (Then & Now) through music, dance, and recitations, welcoming the spirit of Mahalaya. The reunion beautifully blended nostalgia, fellowship, and sustainability, leaving everyone enriched and connected.

Durgotsov: একাল–সেকাল (Then & Now)
On 14th September 2025, the alumni of Bankura Sammilani Medical College came together for a memorable cultural morning on the Bedford Cruise over the River Ouse. As autumn ushers in the spirit of Mahalaya, we celebrated Durgotsov: একাল–সেকাল (Then & Now), a bilingual performance interweaving music, dance, and recitation. The program traced the evolution of Durga Puja—from the intimate courtyards of yesteryears to today’s grand community celebrations—while evoking the timeless rhythm of the dhak and the fragrance of shiuli. Alumni performers brought alive nostalgia, joy, and hope: Rabindrasangeet, evocative recitations, graceful dances, and soul-stirring songs captured the essence of Pujo both in Bengal and abroad.
Though far from home, the event reminded us that Durga Puja is more than a festival – it is heritage, memory, and belonging. The morning on the River Ouse shimmered with that emotion, leaving us with warmth and anticipation for the festive days ahead.
